The Girls

by Gabby Bonfiglio

they are on the beach

some laying

some lounging

laughing, they are boisterous

their hair flips and flutters around their grins

one gets up to dip her daily toes in the water

she is the thinnest

another gets up, creeps up to the first (the thinnest)

leans down

rips off her thighs

and says “mine now”

the one who is the thinnest keeps moving towards the water

another girl (the blondest) leaps up, pounces after the thinnest

tears off her arm which is very toned

soon they swarm

the girl is bloody

one is left

she is fat but

there is no one there to tell her
