It takes two / a bruja’s test of faith

hello, full moon. i knew you were coming yet somehow was still surprised to see you. you see, i forgot about my maybe favorite visitor and now i’m not sure what to do with you. to be honest with you, lunita, i’m a little hurt.
i’ve knelt in your presence every visit and kissed your glowing feet with the promise of glowing tomorrows. at first, you were a gracious guest, bearing the gifts of our vows. but it’s been some time now that you show up empty-handed. and i don’t understand the animosity or carelessness. but it hurts. we made promises, you and i.
we made promises you’re not keeping. so i don’t know what to do with you tonight, full and stoic and demanding on my doorstep. i want to believe we can mend this relationship. but it hurts.
hello, me. i know you are always here yet somehow i’m still surprised to catch my reflection. you see, i forgot about my maybe most important inhabitant and now i’m not sure what to do with me. to be honest, ádita, i’m really hurt.
we made promises, you and i. we made promises i’m not keeping. i’ve knelt in the presence of promise every visit but forgot to be a gracious host, letting our vows slip through my hands in between my fingers falling amongst the darkness to make home in the sky twinkling through pulsating eyes. i want to mend this relationship. but it hurts. i’m sorry i keep forgetting to offer you a drink.
